X-09 End-of-Life

The X-09 combination lock met the requirements of Federal Specification FF-L-2740A. Kaba Mas responded to the June 2011 update of the specification (FF-L-2740B) with the development of the X-10. The X-10 was approved by the General Services Administration (GSA) in April of 2013. Kaba Mas has supported both X-09 and X-10 locks with parts and service since that time.

With concurrence of the GSA and the Interagency Committee on Security Equipment (IACSE), Kaba Mas will move forward with the "end of life" process of the X-09. Kaba will discontinue availability of X-09 parts and repair service on 1 October 2015. GSA/IACSE involvement in and support of this decision is based on interest to promote the transition to locks which comply with current specification requirements.
