Push/Pull Paddle Trim
ML2000 Mortise and HP3000 Tubular Lock with Push/Pull Paddle Trim
Can I replace my existing cylindrical lockset with the HP3000 tubular lock with push/pull paddle trim?
Yes. If the existing door prep is for a standard cylindrical lock (2-1/8" diameter hole thru the door), and the existing lockset is a 2-3/4", 5" or 7" backset, the HP3000 tubular lock with push/pull paddle trim will install directly on your existing door.
Can I change the paddle orientation on the door after initial installation, i.e. move it from horizontal to vertical?
Yes. The beauty of our new paddle trim is that you can orient the paddle in any combination of vertical or horizontal positions to accommodate your needs, even after the initial installation. Just note that two small screw holes may be visible where the paddle chassis was fastened to the door.
What happens if patient beds or food carts are constantly hitting the paddle, or if it's used in areas of the facility where excessive abuse will occur? How sturdy is the paddle trim?
We understand that durability and dependability of door hardware is critical in many applications, particularly healthcare and educational settings. The new paddle trim was designed to meet the most demanding environments in hospital and patient care settings and meets ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 commercial hardware requirements. We've tested it in our laboratory and in actual hospital environments to ensure it will withstand heavy abuse.
