Assembly and Installation Instructions: Schlage Interchangeable Core Tailpiece

Your Tailpiece kit (697F942) comes with two components

• (A) Tailpiece 697F922
• (B) Retainer clip 697F938

Assembly Instructions:

Note: flat side of tailpiece should align with key after installation

• 1. Slide retainer clip into groove in tailpiece
• 2. Rotate tailpiece to leave the appropriate slot open. See below for correct retainer clip orientation.
  • a. For all Schlage cylinders except Primus, see fig. 2.
  • b. For Primus see fig. 3.

Installation Instructions:

• 1. Remove key from cylinder.
• 2. Unscrew threaded cap from end of cylinder (it will be necessary to depress the locking pin).
• 3. Place tailpiece inside the exposed end of cylinder with locking pin in open slot.
• 4. Reverse step 2 to reinstall cap.
• 5. Install cylinder in lock normally per manufacturers instructions.
