WARNING: Perform all changing operations with the door of the container open. Do not allow the door to close until Step 5 is completed.
Step 1—Insert the operating key and turn it clockwise 180 degrees to its stop. For this step, the single-bitted key used with the model 6805 should be inserted with the bit of the key pointing towards the bolt of the lock. After rotation, remove the key from the lock.
Step 2—Using a 3 ⁄32 inch hex wrench, loosen the fence clamp screw (located on the back of the lock) four complete turns counterclockwise.
FENCE CLAMP SCREW IS ACCESSIBLE HERE
Step 3—Insert the new key fully into the lock. For this step, the single bitted key used with the model 6805 should be inserted with the bit of the key pointing away from the bolt of the lock. Rotate the new key counterclockwise to its stop.
Step 4—Use the 3 ⁄32 inch hex wrench to tighten the fence clamp screw securely (torque to between 7 and 9 inch-pounds). Make sure the key does not move from its stop position while you are tightening the clamp screw.

Step 5—Rotate the new key farther counterclockwise until it reaches its stop. Remove the new key, then insert it again to test the lock at least three times before closing the container door.
