Care and Maintenance of SOSS® Invisible Hinges

SOSS® Invisible Hinges are shipped already lubricated and under normal conditions, require no additional care.

If needed, we recommend a spray lubricant, such as WD-40, which serves both as a lubricant and cleaner. Apply gently, taking care not to overspray on the door or frame. Once applied, wipe with a soft cloth.

Do not use cleaning agents, solvents, or products like Brasso, because they can damage the finish and /or gum up the hinge links.

The following chemicals are not to be used on any SOSS hinge models with nylon links including, but not limited to the model #204, #208, #212, #216, #216FR, #218, #218FR, #220, #220FR:

Acetic Acid Conc. Phenol, Aqueous Acetic Acid 10% Phosphoric Acid 10%

Boric Acid 10% Potassium Permanganate 1% Calcium Chloride 10% Sodium Hydroxide Solution 50% Chloroform Sodium Hydroxide Solution 5%

Formic Acid 10% Sulphuric Acid 98% Hydrochloric Acid 36% Tincture of Iodine (alc.)

Hydrochloric Acid 2% Ozone

Hydrofluoric Acid Nitric Acid 2% Hydrogen Peroxide 30% Lactic Acid 2% Hydrogen Peroxide 0.5% Hydrogen Sulphide
