How To Determine Hand of Door

Face a door swinging open away from you. If it opens to the right, it is right hand. If it opens to the left, it is left hand.

Installation Instructions

• Step 1. Secure the flat Check Bracket "B on the jamb or gate post. "
• Step 2. Where the door is hung on spring hinges, be sure to release the spring power on the hinges.
• The door rail may be mounted on the bottom surface of the door or mortised flush. Step 3.
• Step 4. Sliding Arm "T" - Using the clamping screw, LOCK ARM VERY SECURELY to the Closer Spindle in a position such that the arm roller is about 1.0" (25.4) past the center line of the door when the door is closed and the Closer is at rest. This will insure the door closing tightly against the door stop. Slide the door rail over the arm roller and screw the rail securely to bottom of door.
• Step 5. THE ARM CLAMPING SCREWS MUST BE TIGHT. Use wrench supplied.
• Step 6. The door is then hung, the last operation being to screw the arm tightly to the bottom of the door.

Single Acting Door: Adjust the closing speed of the door with the valve located near the bottom of the Closer to allow the door to close quickly without slamming.
