Threshold with Flexible Joint
Threshold Flexes or Expands for a Variety of Uses
The Pemko 573x5_FG threshold is a commercial threshold with a flexible joint. The flexible joint allows the threshold to flex as much as 20 degrees up or down, or to expand up to an additional 1/4". Ideal applications include uneven floor surfaces or building components that expand and contract, or move slightly, such as a floating ramp or an expansion joint.
The flexible joint is made from a thermoplastic elastomer that adds an additional benefit as a thermal barrier. A thermal barrier threshold doesn't allow heat to be transferred from one side of the threshold to the other, which would normally cause condensation.
