INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE WITH HIT-135 INSTALLATION TOOL FOR BEST ACCESS SYSTEMS 93KG, 93KBV AND 93KZ SERIES LOCKS

Remove allen bolt and back plate. Place HIT-135 drill guide on door with aligning washers in the 2-1/8" crossbore. HIT-135 should be placed on door so the writing on the front plate is in the upright position. Replace back plate and tighten allen bolt until snug. Do not over tighten. HIT-135 is now ready to retrofit Best Access Sysyems 93k series locks. All through bolt holes may be drilled in one operation through the door, or half way from both sides. This unit was designed to retrofit locks with 2-3/4" backsets. The use of this fixture for 2-3/8" backsets may be accomplished the following way. Mount the template to the door as usual (the tool will over hang the door edge 3/8"). Next with the use of a combination square, square the template to the door and tighten the allen bolt. The template is now in proper alignment for use.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

THERE ARE THREE DRILL BUSHINGS AT THE TOP OF THE DRILL GUIDE. ONLY TWO ARE USED. THE CENTER AND EITHER THE RIGHT OR LEFT GUIDE. THE HAND OF THE DOOR WILL DETERMINE WHICH ONE IS USED. DO NOT DRILL ALL THREE HOLES.

Drill two 5/16" diameter holes for the upper and lower through bolt holes. These holes are located above and below the 2-1/8" cross bore hole. Drill halfway from both sides of the door.

Drill one 7/16" diameter hole for the motor wire. The bushing for this hole is silver colored and located on the hinge side of the cross bore.

Drill two holes for the mounting trim. Use a #7 drill bit and drill half way from both sides of the door. These two holes need to be enlarged to 5/8" with the use of a hole saw after the HIT-135 is removed from the door.

Drill one hole for the wire harness. Drill one #7 hole through the door using the correct bushing for the door hand. (see page 2) DO NOT DRILL BOTH HOLES . Enlarge this hole to 3/4" with the use of a hole saw once the HIT-135 has been removed from the door.

ALWAYS WEAR EYE AND EAR PROTECTION WHEN USING POWER TOOLS
