INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE WITH HIT-133 INSTALLATION TOOL FOR SECURITON SABL
Remove allen bolt and back plate. Place HIT-133 drill guide on door with aligning washers in the 2-1/8" crossbore. HIT-133 should be placed on door so the writing on the front plate is in the up right position. Replace back plate and tighten allen bolt until snug. Do not over tighten. HIT-133 is now ready to retrofit the Securitron Sabl. All thru bolt holes may be drilled in one operation through the door, or half way from both sides. This unit was designed to retrofit locks with 2-3/4" backsets.
DRILLING THE LOCK FUNCTION HOLES
Starting at the top of the template drill holes as follows:
- 1. 7/16" hole through the door. This is the silver colored bushing.
- 2. Next drill a 1/4" hole through the door. After all holes are drilled and the HIT-133 is removed enlarge this hole to 1" with the use of a hole saw.
- 3. Drill two 3/8" holes through the door using the bushings located at 6 and 12 o'clock, above and below the lock lever. At the same time drill two 5/32" holes to a minimum depth of 5/32" using the two drill bushings located at 3 and 9 o'clock to the left and right of the lock lever.
DRILLING WIRE RUN HOLE
Drill the hole for the wire run as follows:
Install wire run drill guide on the side of the door that the battery pack will be located. Choose the drill bushing that will allow you to drill a 5/16" hole from the battery side of the door (hinge side) to the lock side of the door (latch side) . Start this hole in the 2- 1/8" lock hole and exit in the 1" hole above it. Mount this template to the back plate of the lock drill guide with the 3/8" allen bolt.
Install lock per manufacturers directions.
Install the wire run guide over the cross bore using the two alignment pins. Bolt to the backplate with the 3/8" allen bolt. Mount this guide on the battery side of the door.
Drill for the wire run using a 5/16" drill bit. Choose the bushing that will allow you to drill from the hinge side of the door to the latch side of the door.
