INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE WITH HIT-107 INSTALLATION TOOL FOR KABA 7004 DEADLATCH FUNCTION
Remove allen bolt and back plate. Place HIT-107 drill guide on door with aligning washers in the 2-1/8" crossbore. The HIT-107 should be placed on door so the so the correct row of drill bushings is located at the top of the guide, see note below. Replace back plate and tighten allen bolt until snug. Do not over tighten. HIT-107 is now ready to retrofit KABA 7000 series deadbolt locks. All through bolt holes may be drilled in one operation through the door, or half way from both sides. This unit was designed to retrofit locks with 2-3/4" backsets. The use of this fixture for 2-3/8" backsets may be accomplished the following way. Mount the template to the door as usual (the tool will over hang the door edge 3/8"). Next with the use of a combination square, square the template to the door and tighten the allen bolt. The template is now in proper alignment for use.
NOTE: This is a reversible drill guide and there is a top and bottom. When installing a DEADLATCH function lock, it is important that the drill guide is mounted to the door with the SINGLE row of bushings at the top.
Drill three 1/4" holes through the door using the single row of bushings as shown below. They can be drilled half way from both sides of door. Remove drill guide from door and enlarge the center hole to 3/4" using the 1/4" hole as a pilot for a hole saw. Drill half way from both sides of door. Install lock per manufacturers directions.
Drill three 1/4" holes through the door. Enlarge the center hole to 3/4" with the use of a hole saw.
The double row of bushings are for use with the deadbolt function and not used on this installation.
