CMP-475 General Instructions For Use

SAFE DEPOSIT LOCKS

To pull the plug from a safe deposit lock, simply turn the entire puller clockwise to thread the sheet metal screw into the renter side of the lock. The lock plug can be pulled by turning the rear half of the puller clockwise. This will draw the puller's threaded shaft into the body of the tool pulling out the plug. With the use of the guard key and a wire or similar tool, the locking bolt may be retracted.

GENERAL MOTORS DECK LOCKS

To quickly open a GM trunk when the tailpiece has become disconnected.

After carefully removing the case cap, shutter and shutter springs from the cylinder, thread the puller's sheet metal screw into the lock cylinder by turning the entire puller clockwise. When the sheet metal screw has a good grip, turn the back half of the puller to pull the lock plug out. The trunk may now be opened with a flat blade screwdriver.

GENERAL NOTES

The CMP-475 uses standard phillips flat head sheet metal screws. It is supplied with # 6, 8 and 10 with a one inch length. Use the diameter that will best suit the job. The puller is also supplied with three adapters that can be used when pulling. These would be used when pulling a lock plug that has a smaller diameter than the puller. Without using an adapter, it would be possible to pull a lock through completely through a sheet metal door causing damage.

Always tighten the locking nut holding the pulling screw with a wrench. Failure to due so could cause damage to the Phillips point of the puller.

Spare screws are stored in the back of the puller.
