Today dormakaba introduces ComboGard Pro 39E Firmware and Software which gives the administrator a choice of Dual Mode functionality. Using ComboGard Pro Support Software, they can select Dual Mode as defined up to today, or Dual Mode which requires a User + Manager in order to access the Manager Menu (Figure 1).

Dual Mode

If enabled, two combinations are required to open the lock only. Manager functions can be performed using the Manager combination alone. This selection is made when setting up the lock with the software or when setting up the lock at the keypad.

Dual Mode and [User + Manager] to access Manager Menu

If enabled, a User and Manager combination are required to perform all lock functions (except change combination). This selection is only available on locks with this newly released 39E firmware and only using the newly released ComboGard Pro Setup Software. If this mode is selected for a lock with down level firmware, the user will receive an error message (Figure 2).

This new ComboGard Pro firmware (v 2.04.00.669) is on locks manufactured after 27 April 2018 and will ship from our factory after current Finished Goods inventory is depleted.

• 730.018 RevD Software Installation Instructions

• 731.018 RevI Setup Instructions • 732.018 RevP Manager Instructions

• 735.028 RevN Keypad Only Setup Instructions

LA GARD software CDs and documentation will no longer be sold or shipped by dormakaba. All LA GARD software will now be available for free on the dormakaba website. Users may duplicate LA GARD software for their own use from the software download and may print any and all LA GARD documentation for their own use, without copyright infringement.

ComboGard Pro 39E VdS and UL certifications are unchanged and there are no changes or impact to LA GARD keypad compatibility.
