High Security Locks for Secure Storage Units

VdS has introduced Addendum S1 to the Guidelines for Physical Security Devices, Standard 2396. All VdS approved locks are required to meet the new requirement by 12/31/2009.

To ensure that our products continue to meet or exceed approval agency requirements, KABA's Auditcon 2 Series solenoid driven 70N Slide Bolt locks will be discontinued, and a new Swing Bolt design will be introduced. The Slide Bolt lock will continue to be available for a limited time but will no longer carry VdS certification after 12/31/2009. UL, DNV and EN 1300 certifications, however, will still be retained. When ordering the Slide Bolt, Country Code options S, I, G, F, U and D will no longer be valid since these options include VdS certification.

The new Swing Bolt design is scheduled to be released to production the 2nd Quarter of 2010. No changes will be made to the lock installation footprint or to the outer dimensions of the lock case.
