E-PDD Addressable Duct Detector Substitution - Update

Preface

This is an update to a previous bulletin regarding the availability of the E-PDD.

Issue

Due to a manufacturing issue, Edwards was unable to deliver E-PDD addressable duct detectors used with the E-FSA64 and E-FSA250 fire alarm panels.

Solution

The manufacturing issue has been resolved and an addressable duct detector is once again available. The detector will now be sold under the part number FX -PDD, and is identical in apperance and function to the previous E-PDD part number. The FX-PDD is compatible with all E-FSA addressable fire alarm panels, can be used on any new or existing installations, and uses the same SD-T* sampling tubes and SD-TRK test stations.

Conclusion

Going forward, any jobs requiring an addressable duct detector for the E-FSA fire alarm system should now use the FX-PDD part number. Orders received for the older E-PDD duct detector will automatically be switched to the FX-PDD.
