INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY OF EDWARDS No. 7620 LOCKING BUTTONS AND EDWARDS No. 7675 SINGLE AND No. 7676 DOUBLE CORD SETS

  • 1. Make certain button has been reset by pressing reset button (6).
  • 2. Place Edwards key (P.P.36658) in slots of threaded collar (7) unscrew and gently lift out mechanism.
  • 3. If button is complete with cord, push cord through shell to expose back assembly (1) for rewiring.
  • 4. If button is without cord, turn top of shell downward, permitting back assembly to fall in hand. Make sure not to bend contact springs (8).

Note: Terminal marked "B" is to be connected to momentary (buzzer) circuit. Nickel terminal marked "C" is to be connected to transformer feed (maximum voltage 48 volts). Other terminals (unmarked) are to be connected to circuits that will be maintained when button is pressed to locking position.

To Assemble:

  • 1. Push cord through hole in bottom of shell (9).
  • 2. Skin back jacket of cord 1ΒΌ" and connect individual conductors to terminals.
  • 3. Place strain relief (10) on cord (as shown on drawing) with pliers.
  • 4. Twist back assembly (1) and push cord up.
  • 5. Pull cord down so that wired back assembly (1) is firmly seated in bottom of shell.
  • 6. Drop sleeve (2) into shell.
  • 7. Drop reset spring-(3) into shell with prongs downwards.
  • 8. Make sure coil spring (4) is securely held on shoulder of plunger (5).
  • 9. Take plunger (5) with coil spring downward and carefully position centrally through prongs of reset spring (3) and contact springs (8) into base assembly (1). Note: Make sure not to hook contact springs (8) on coil spring (4).
  • 10. Holding reset button (6) with tapered end downward, drop over plunger (5).
  • 11. Screw collar (7) into shell and tighten with key.
