Exit Device Cut Down Matrix

CUT DOWN PROCESS

  • 1. Measure door opening width. (Diagram 1) NOTE: Dimension A is measured from Rabbet in frame, not door stop. (Diagram 2)
  • 2. Select Product Series from provided table.
  • 3. Find Standard Door Opening Width that is closest to your measurement (30", 36", 42", 48").
    • Decide how the exit device will be configured with electrification and/or monitoring options.
  • 4. Check if your measured opening width is equal to, or greater than, any of the minimum possible widths for the desired exit configuration.
    • If your measured door opening width is less than the minimum possible width for that exit device configuration, check other possible options. If no options are found, the exit device cannot be cut to fit on that opening.
  • 5. Take your standard door opening width and subtract your measured opening width. The difference will be the length measured from the edge of the back-bar/ push-bar to cut off and scrap. (Diagram 3) NOTE: Standard Door Opening Width minus Measured Door Opening Width equals the DIM "B" cut off amount.
