Competitor indicator kits are approved by UL as an accessory item on doors using Schlage® L9000 or Best® 45H/34H/35H mortise locks. Kits should be ordered only for the specific functions as listed by Yale Commercial and are surface applied as an accessory to existing locksets.

Indicator Retrofit Kits

Indicators can be used in a variety of applications and are most commonly used to identify occupancy or display the locked/ unlocked status of a room.

Upgrade existing Best® or Schlage® mortise locks with a retrofit indicator kit from Yale. These kits offer a seamless upgrade to existing sectional mortise locks to add security and privacy from Yale.

• Can be mounted on the inside, outside or both sides of the door

Note: All finishes will be provided per Yale color standards. Yale does not guarantee finish will match to Best® or Schlage® finish.

• 1. Indicator escutcheon nickel plated to match stainless steel.
• 2. Finish available with MicroShield® antimicrobial coating, additional finishes by special application. Consult factory for availability.

MicroShield coating may vary finish color from architectural standards. MicroShield is not intended as a substitute for traditional infection control programs such as hand hygiene or use of disinfectants. Coated products must still be cleaned to ensure the surfaces will be free of destructive microbes. Yale makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, as to the efficacy of MicroShield.

Best® Mortise Locks

Sectional trim indicator kits are available to retrofit to Best® 45H, 34H or 35H series mortise locks. Kits can be ordered to be used on the inside, outside or both sides of the door. Each kit includes a single side indicator plate with mechanism, screw pack, plastic template and instructions.

• Kits available for use on sectional trim installations only
• Can only be used with H or R roses. Roses greater than 3-1/4" in diameter cannot be used.
• Thumbturn design will be the standard Yale® thumbturn
• L and LT privacy functions will use a coin turn for emergency override

Schlage® Mortise Locks

Sectional trim indicator kits are available to retrofit to Schlage® L series mortise locks. Kits can be ordered to be used on the inside, outside or both sides of the door. Each kit includes a single side indicator plate with mechanism, screw pack, plastic template and instructions.

• Kits available for use on sectional trim installations only
• Can be used with A, B, C, AVA or MER roses. Roses greater than 3-1/4" in diameter cannot be used.
• Thumbturn design will be the standard Yale® thumbturn
• L/LV9040 and L/LV9044 privacy functions will use a coin turn for emergency override

How to Order

To order, specify by model number. Door thickness and indicator option code must be specified with each kit.

Competitor indicator kits are handed and easily field reversible. All units are shipped from the factory with a default handing. Handing must be field verified and adjusted as needed per product installation instructions.
