788 MONITORING FUNCTION INSTRUCTIONS MODEL 250 / 700 SERIES

P5401 12/04

The 788 monitoring function consists of a reed switch in our 730 keeper and an activating magnet in the lock's deadbolt. The 730 keeper has a pair of flying leads that provide normally closed dry contacts when the door

INSTALLATION

Follow the normal instructions for mounting the keeper with the following exception: Drill a 1/4" hole into the hollow metal door frame for the keepers flying leads to run through.

WIRING

When using Alarm Lock's remote monitor, one keeper wire is connected to the ground terminal and the other wire is simultaneously connected to the tone and lamp terminals.

OPERATION

When the door is closed and the deadbolt locked, the monitor will report a secure condition. Unlocking the deadbolt by depressing the pushbar (causing an alarm) or using a key will cause a break in the loop to the remote monitor. The monitor will simultaneously turn on the buzzer and light the lamp associated with that door. The tone may be reset at the monitor at once in order to continue monitoring other locks. The lamp may be reset only after the deadbolt is projected by the key.
